Spectrum
Project assumptions
Why?
The mission of “Wrocław Spectrum” is to popularise the topic of autism spectrum in public debate. We focus on two main topics: the special interests of individuals and their functioning in the city. Is Wrocław a friendly place for people on the autism spectrum? How can this be changed?
How do we work?

Our actions
Research
First of all, we check the knowledge of Wrocław residents about the autism spectrum through quantitative research. Secondly, we try to identify the needs of people on the spectrum in the context of city use. We also obtain opinions from people who are not on the spectrum – as an important point of reference. Aren’t some of these groups’ expectations mutually exclusive? During the discussion panel, we will talk together about designing a space that is friendly to everyone. The research results will be summarized in the form of publicly available reports. Are you from Wrocław and want to become a respondent in stationary or online form? Please contact us via the form or email kontakt@projektkontrasty.pl.

Films
Are people on the autism spectrum math geniuses? Why is this topic considered to mainly affect boys? Have we recently seen an “autism trend”? These and other questions will be answered by our experts in the field of psychiatry, psychology, sociology (and more). We will try to debunk as many myths and stereotypes regarding the autism spectrum as possible. The conversation recordings will be published online and you will be able to return to them at any time. When will they appear? We encourage you to follow our YouTube channel!
Workshops
It happens that people on the autism spectrum have exceptionally intense interests to which they devote a lot of time and attention. They usually present extensive and very detailed knowledge in a selected field. These are often unusual or unusual passions for their age. We invite you to workshops on your interests, led by people on the spectrum. Their topics are strictly confidential for now and the number of places for some of them will be limited – so we encourage you to follow our social media closely, where new information will appear!

Vernissage
Special interests will be explored by Zuzanna Gonera, M.A., who will conduct a series of ethnographic interviews with people on the autism spectrum. He will share his reflections with us during the opening of the photography exhibition regarding the interests of people on the spectrum. The meeting will take place in Wrocław, but we will also publish the photos online. However, we invite you to participate on-site – some materials will be available only on-site, and you will also be able to meet their co-creators. It is also an opportunity to take part in workshops, during which we will jointly design changes that take into account the needs of people on the spectrum, which can be introduced in the space of Wrocław. The date will be announced in advance.
