INTERGENERATIONAL EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCES

Can youth and seniors find a common language? Of course! On Saturday (March 5, 2022) at 11:00 a.m. in Olesnica’s Mikolaj Rej Public Library, an intergenerational exchange workshop took place, organized by our team together with the OFCA Foundation. The event was attended by senior citizens – listeners of the Olesnica University of the Third Age, and young people: representatives of the Olesnica City Youth Council and students of the Juliusz Słowacki High School I in Olesnica.

At the beginning of the meeting there were team-building games to familiarize the participants of the event with each other. Then the seniors had the opportunity to learn the basics of using cell phones and computers. Students played the role of teachers and patiently explained all the intricacies and helped solve problems. The youngsters also had the opportunity to acquire new skills, thanks to an art workshop prepared by the seniors, during which they learned a decorative technique called decoupage.

The undertaking was under the patronage of the Mayor of Olesnica and was financed by funds from the City of Olesnica Municipality.
